Former Lions Semp Player Sam Mahofski signs Division I Scholarship at Corpus Christi A&M out of Division I Weatherford JC

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Texas A&M-Corpus Christi baseball has added six new faces to the fray during the 2015 fall signing period.
Head coach Scott Malone and recruiting coordinator Brett Gips announced the additions of Sam Mahofski, Korey Rasure, Alvin Lee, Jr., John Michael Rodriguez, Jr., Drake Osborn and Luke Marbach on Friday. Three of the Islanders high school prospects have been ranked an=mong the best in Texas and nationally by the major recruiting services.
SAM MAHOFSKI | Shortstop | Mansfield, Texas – Weatherford College
Mahofski will join the Islanders after two seasons at Weatherford College. In his freshman season at Weatherford, Mahofski helped the Coyotes to a 39-15 mark and a No. 1 national ranking.
• Hit .370 with a .488 on-base percentage and 59 hits.
• Drove in 49 runs as a freshman at Weatherford.
• Named to the NJCAA All-Star Game.
• Dean’s list student majoring in electrical engineering.
“Sam will make an immediate impact for us in the field defensively and at the plate,” said Gips. “As a transfer, he will add experience, sound fundamentals and great athleticism to the field. One thing that made Sam really stick out is his ability to play anywhere on the infield. Adding a key piece to complement the returning players on the infield will fill the void that senior Casey Thomas will leave. Sam’s also an outstanding student!”
